Kathy, so sorry to hear about Don's sudden passing. He was such a nice man and I will remember the rides on his motorcycle even if he scared me when he did a wheelie.
Condolences to the Colony family. I interacted with Don only once on the phone but he was kind and informative. RIP.

I'm shocked by this. Don and I were close friends in the mid- 70's. He was a good guy. Although I haven't seen him in many years I still valued his friendship. MY deepest condolences to all members of his family and life

It’s a snowy day today. Nature’s tribute to Don.
Sorry for your lost. I went to school with Don and hunted family land. He was always a good man.
My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends of Don. I spent a lot of time with Don in Junior High and High School. My life is richer for have known Don. My heart aches as I remember all the fun times. RIP Don.
My deepest condolences to Don's family and friends. He is in my memories of growing up in North Liberty, back when we ran, rode our bikes everywhere. Went to Penn Elementary. A lot smaller town!
My husband and I ran into him a few years ago. We were on our Harley. Talked about bikes and than realized we knew each other as kids. He spoke so lovingly about his wife and family, how happy he was.
Rest in peace. Again so sorry for your loss.
I have alot of good memories of Don from Junior high and high school, hunting partying, he was always a very fun person to hang out with , I always told him he was in North liberty hick lol years later , I was a North liberty hick, raising my own family, I will miss seeing him around NorthLiberty, RIP Don, Have a Beer with my brother Chuck in Heaven , the Stories you guys can share♥️
I have two stories about Don. When James and I first moved to NL we lived just south of him on Nicholas Lane in a townhome with no basement. I was very afraid of tornadoes and Don knew this as my Dad told him. Don offered their house as a safe space whenever I was uncomfortable. So abundantly kind. The second story is of the day our dog ran away (on Henry’s Birthday) and Don sprung him from jail “on the house” so Crosby could get back for the birthday celebration. :) Sending you all our sympathy.
