Condolences
Kris,
I am so very sorry to hear about Matt. My heart goes out to you and Matt's family.
Chris and Matt
My sympathies to Matt’s family. I worked with Matt at MidWestOne Bank and we connected when we discovered that his aunt was Vera Brack, who I worked with at a bank in Denison. Matt did many things for me at the bank like driving to Hobby Lobby with the bank truck to get the bank Christmas tree, helping me get oil changes done on the bank car, picking me up in the parking garage on cold bitter days with the bank truck and giving me a ride to the main bank office. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace, Matt!
I just heard through my family about Matt's passing. I was deeply saddened because although I lost touch with him many years ago I still have good memories of him. I chuckled reading Joe Russel's comments about the South Governor hide and seek games and such. What a great time and place to grow up. And of course him scoring to win the football game against West High was a memory none of us will forget!!! He was a true friend to many.....
My heartfelt condolences go to his entire family.
So sorry to hear about Matt. Your in our thoughts & prayers. God Bless you all!
I worked with Matt at the bank and always enjoyed hearing stories about his dogs. It was evident that he loved them with all his heart. I'm so sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about Matt . Please know you will all be in our thoughts & prayers. May God bless you all.
Melissa and family, sorry to hear of your loss.
So sorry and shocked to hear this news. I worked with Matt in our time at the bank. He was always good to share a laugh and a conversation about the Hawkeyes. My thoughts are with you. Be well.
I met Matt through Kris. I had worked in Sycamore Mall at the same time she did. We became good friends and I was in their wedding and she in ours. They always were a very fun couple to be around. Unfortunately we have not been in contact in several years but my husband and I often speak of them. I am sincerely sorry to hear of Matt's passing. Kris; you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Love and Peace.
I first met Matt (and Kris) while working at Von Maur (Sycamore) during college. My future wife (Jan) also worked there. Many of the friendships we created there, have endured. When I started working for MidWestOne, Matt was working there. It was good to catch up and work in the same building for a number of years. Matt was always friendly, helpful, and appreciative of the people he was around. Always had some good laughs when in his presence. RIP Matt. Peace to you and your family. -Mike, Jan, and all your Von Maur buddies.
Matt was a good friend. We hung out a lot in the late 80's-early 90's. I regret that I did not see him more in recent years. He was a good guy who was a lot of fun. Watching NFL, playing cards, or out partying, all the memories I have of him are great. My condolences to his family. The world lost a good guy.
I spent a lot of my younger years trying to catch Matt in touch/flag football (never did!) or even trying to out slam dunk the basketball (never did either!) at Longfellow. RIP Matt, a good old friend. Condolences to his family.
I have fond memories of Matt from Central Jr. High and City High days. He was always fun-loving with good-natured mischievousness and sense of adventure. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. Blessing to Kris and family.
Matt was like a bother to me in the early years of my life. He was big hearted, inclusive and fun loving. A natural athlete, he was at the center of every one of the daily South Governor sporting events and hide and go seek games. I offer heart felt condolences to Kim, Phyllis and Melissa from me and the rest of the Russell family. The world is a lesser place without Matt.
Kris, news of Matt’s sudden passing is absolutely heartbreaking. We know how much this hurts. Please know our hearts & prayers are with you, & let us know how we can support you.
I remember our senior year in high school when Matt kicked the winning field goal to beat Iowa City West.
Offering my sincere condolences for the family. May the promise of our Lord Jesus at John 5:28 bring you comfort and hope.
Matt was my next door neighbor growing up and was my first best friend. We did everything together as kids and I have many wonderful memories with Matt and the Brack family. Matt was such a good and kind person and loved to make people laugh. It breaks my heart to learn of his passing. My condolences to Kris, Phyllis and Melissa. May you find comfort with each other and in your memories.
I have fond memories of Matthew at Central Jr High..... always a smile on his face. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. RIP
Matt was a terrific person ! Very fond and funny memories - camping and art masterpieces on t- shirts the next morning come to mind. He had a warm heart and an endless sense of humor. My heart, comfort and prayers go out to Kris and Phyllis. With Love and Peace - Kim
