Obituary of Michael W. Pealer

Michael “Mike” W. Pealer, 51 of Morning Sun formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from pneumonia.

Michael Wayne Pealer was born On September 29, 1966, in Burlington, Iowa the son of Patrick and Pamela (Toland) Pealer.  He was united in marriage to Barbara J. Owens on November 19, 1993 at Mt. Pleasant.  The couple have lived in the Morning Sun area for many years where Michael has been in the road construction business, and most recently worked as a cook for Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.  Mike enjoyed life, especially with the love of his life and soulmate, Barbara. He enjoyed NASCAR, Chicago Bears Football, and had a knack for Jeopardy.  He was a walking encyclopedia or nowadays, “a walking google”.  While in his “Man Cave” he was into producing videos on his u tube page.  He was a kind gentle man to not only the people around him, but also his furry friends, his cats.  His family includes his best friend, life mate and wife, Barbara; brother, Mark Pealer; niece, Courtney Pealer; nephews, Jeremy Venghaus and Hayden Pealer; Mike’s maternal grandparents, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynda and Mike Karagin; and his beloved fur babies.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, niece, Rae Venghaus, and brother-in-law, Steve Owens.

A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at 2pm Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the Morning Sun Community Center. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his memory. To share a thought, memory or condolence with his family please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com.
