Dear Janice, Gene and Families,

I was sorry to hear about your Mother. I remember the special friendship our families had over the years. I always enjoyed talking with her and the invitations to go to some of your family gatherings. My Mom looked forward to Henrietta's visits later in life.

Unfortunately, my health prevented me from the visitation. I would have liked to talk to the people I know.

I have so many memories of the Wertz family getting together at the different farms, homes, and at the park. Henrietta and Sam were the ones who took on the project to preserve the Wertz cemetery in the countryside near where our families settled. I am thankful that we will always have these memories.

I was so sorry to hear of your mothers death. It has been many years since I was a girl coming to Iowa to visit my grandparents for the summer(. Harrison & Kathryn Orr) I would always go out to Uncle Bob's and Aunt Dorothy's to visit. If I was lucky I would get to go fishing with the Miller family. My uncle and Sam Miller farmed together and were good family friends.

When ever I saw your Mom she was always so sweet and kind. I remember her working at Mercy at the information desk. Always willing to assist anyone with help. I know you will miss her very much. Mother's are so special as yours was.

I want you to know you and your family are in my prayers. The first few months are the hardest but your memories will sustain you.

Dear Familiy of Henrietta, My condolences. I knew that Henrietta was a very productive and efficient person but had no idea of all of her accomplishments until I read her obituary. I know the fun that she and Sam had with the annual Easter egg hunt on the farm for the family. They enjoyed that and shared many stories of your family tradition. Father Rudy has continued that tradition at St Patricks which is on the farmland. Henrietta leaves a good legacy in all of you. She and Sam are together again. Peace to you, Mary C. McCarthy
