Obituary of Carolyn O Gabrielson

Carolyn O. Gabrielson, 81, died on February 1, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

Graveside Services will take place at the Dayton Cemetery, at 10 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018, where a time of fellowship will follow at the Dayton United Methodist Church (107 3rd St. NW , Dayton, IA.) In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to Mercy Hospice in Cedar Rapids.  To share a thought, memory or condolence please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com.

Carolyn was born to Ray and Alice (Eck) Gabrielson on February 24, 1936. She grew up on the family farm in Dayton, Iowa surrounded by her family, many friends and her beloved pets. She attended the Dayton Schools. She was a long time member of the Dayton United Methodist Church. 

Carolyn lived at Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon, Iowa for many years. In 2009 she moved to Irving Point Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids in order to be near her sisters. Carolyn enjoyed her life at Irving Point and appreciated both the residents and staff who were with her until her health failed late last year.

Carolyn is survived by her sisters; Sue Magee of Westminster, California, Marolyn Bogert of Marion, Iowa, and Sally Mathis Hartwig of Iowa City. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and their children.
