Obituary of Robert D. Vrchoticky

Robert D. Vrchoticky Sr., 79 formerly of this area died Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Robert Dean Vrchoticky was born September 20, 1938, in Iowa City the son of Robert J. and Hazel M. (Maxey) Vrchoticky.  For most of his adult life he has worked in the construction industry or as a courier.  If you knew Bob you knew a man that liked to fish, work jigsaw puzzles, drink whisky, especially “Old Grand Dad”; watch old westerns and be around his grandchildren, pretty simple life he would often say.

His family includes his children, Robert D. Vrchoticky Jr. (Rhonda), Dale Parrish (Carrie), David Stutzman, Cindy Behun (Michael), Connie Batterton (James), Pamela Vrchoticky (Scott Ernst), and Kenneth Vrchoticky (Nicole; daughter-in-law, Brenda Vrchoticky; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Melva Swartzendruber, Joseph Vrchoticky, Edwin Vrchoticky, Darrell Vrchoticky, Sharon Krenz, Allen Vrchoticky, Jerry Vrchoticky, Rodney Vrchoticky, Pat Litton, and Bruce Vrchoticky.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, children, Susan as an infant, and Arthur Vrchoticky; and sisters, Marilyn Nost and Darlene Donovan.
