Charlotte Elizabeth Stineman was born April 4, 1926, the daughter of Harry and Allie (Beik) Stineman. Following graduation from Grandview High School she attended AIC Business College in Davenport. On November 7, 1945, she was united in marriage to Fred W. Finley at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple farmed in Muscatine County before moving to Coralville in 1956 where they resided many years. She not only cared for her family and their home, but she also worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals for over 20 years retiring in 1982. She enjoyed her dear friends, especially the lunch group that has met for many many years, even though there are fewer and fewer of them. Charlotte was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, to the point of often calling herself “one of Hayden’s little dumplings”!
Her family meant the world to her, they include her children, Linda Carmichael (Jim), Lori Escher, Tom Finley, and Tracy Finley (Julie); grandchildren, Genny Gunn (Tony), Bret Bigley, Luke Finley(Hillary), Beau Finley, Josh Escher, Katelyn Escher and Miranda Finley; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren and 3 step-great-great grandsons and sister-in-law, Phyllis Stineman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred; stepmother, Genevieve Dunphy Stineman; 2 brothers, Eugene Stineman as an infant, and Warren Stineman.
