Obituary of Dale W. Doster

Dale W. Doster, of Iowa City, passed away December 22, 2017 at his home.

Dale Wilbur Doster was born March 30, 1952; son of Wilbur and Evalyn (Zehms) Doster in Knierim, Iowa. He is survived by his brother, David Doster (Norene) of Norwalk, Iowa and niece, Jess Doster; children, Christopher Doster of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Joshua Doster of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Iona Doster (Zach Westerdahl) of Iowa City; grandchildren, Zachary Doster, Finley Benway, Oliver and Hazel Myers, Lulu Doster and Arrow Westerdahl. 

Dale grew up on a farm near Knierim and graduated from Barnum High School in 1970.  He married Shirlee Myer and they resided in Clare, Iowa before moving to Allendale, Missouri where Dale owned and operated a sawmill business.  Dale returned to the Fort Dodge area before settling in Iowa City.  He enjoyed woodworking and worked for The Woodworkers in Iowa City.  Dale was known for his story telling and his love of nature and the outdoors.  Those who knew Dale will know how to celebrate his life.
