Condolences
We are so sorry for velmas passing, we just looked up nigg online and we saw her face and from that moment we knew that she was a true hero in our hearts, the picture led us here and we will never forget about the impact velma had on us, From 2 middle schoolers
Velma was a very, very kind person to my sister Shilo Wilson and I. She passed this kindness to her children, grandchildren, and many others. She will be missed dearly. My deepest condolences to the family.
Nigg Family ~
Condolences to all of you. Here is one of my favorite poems -- hope it gives you some comfort.
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.”
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again
Dear Dan,Greg,Sheri,&Mary My Thoughts and prayers are with all your family at this time. I don't have to tell you what a fun loving person your Mom was. So sorry that I didn't know she was at Crestview, my daughter Amber works there but of course never said anything to me. I hope your memories remind you of what a nice lady she was and take care.

Dear Dan, Greg, Sheri and Mary, so sorry to hear of Velma's passing. I have such fond memories of her when all of us were growing up there in Newport. She was always so warm and welcoming and fun. I can still hear her laugh. Velma and Bill have always had a special place in my heart. Sending heart-felt condolences and love all the way from England. I will be back late November and will head out to Newport to visit your folks in St Mary's. Jack (John) Lynch,
Dear family
I’m so very sorry of your loss. My memories of your Mom/Grandmother are of sweetest. Sweet smells from the kitchen, sweet smells from her garden, her sweet smile. The sound of her sweet giggle. She was a big bubble of kindness and I alway felt welcomed and safe in her home as a child. I pray that the fond memories of Velma will heal your hearts. With sympathy, Polly Bornstein

To Dan and wifeTerri, and sister Sherri,
Although I never meet your mother, Dan and I often spoke of our moms at work, so it feels as if I knew her. She raised some great kids, I could not ask for a better coworker and friend.
We are so sorry for your loss, may you find comfort and strength in knowing how much we all care for you.
In sympathy,
Lisa & Kelly Halverson
Such a wonderful lady. Treasure the wonderful memories.
Myself and my husband and are very sad to hear of Velma's passing. Velma was my "Aunt" ........... you know one of those aunt's that is not quite related but very close family. As a child growing up I adored both Velma and her husband, Bill. I spent time playing with my Frees cousins and their cousins, the Niggs.
I have so many fond memories of your dear Mom. We were not in close contact over the past years as my husband and I moved out west but always enjoyed including Velma in our visits when we were in Iowa. I especially appreciate the time we were able to spent with her just a few weeks ago when we were again in Iowa.
Your family is in our prayers.
Love - Cheryl

Don and I are so sorry to hear about your mother. We have fond memories of her and she always had a smile on her face. We are sorry that we won't be able to make the service as we are living in Kansas right now. Please know she is at peace and is with your dad again. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless !!
