Obituary of Kathyrn M. Leonard

Kathryn M. Leonard, 93, formerly of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Solon Nursing & Care Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Friday, September 29th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery near Tiffin.  Memorials may be made to Grace UMC in Tiffin or Table to Table.  Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.gayandciha.com.

Kathryn M. Seering was born March 2, 1924, in rural Johnson County, Iowa; daughter of Henry F. and Eleanor (Kinzel) Seering.  She was united in marriage to Robert Leonard on October 19, 1943 in Iowa City and in 1953 they moved to their farm near Tiffin where they would raise their family.  Kathryn enjoyed farm life, gardening, canning, and the chores.  She also spent time at the Senior Center volunteering and always had time for a jig saw puzzle. 

Her family includes her children, Glen Leonard, Duane Leonard (Jo), Wanda Tompkins, Betty Alfrey, Gary Leonard, Dale Leonard, Margie Gruver (Ron) and Brenda Johnson (Rex) as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson; Ryan Johnson; son-in-law, Tom Tompkins and her nine siblings.
