Dorothy was instrumental in helping me to get a teaching job in Muscatine in 1975. Her friendship with Gert Zinn and my friendship with Gert tied the deal as Dorothy recommended me personally to Owen Olsen for the job at West Jr High. Dorothy was a great friend and although I only taught math at West with her for one semester the friendship continued at district math meetings and social events. Enjoyed her living on Devitt for years and treasured visits with her. I will always remember her with great affection.

Your mom was such a great person and a dear, dear friend to my mom. She will surely be missed. We all loved her great sense of humor and her infectious laugh. We treasure the memory of her last visit and going down to eat at the Button. Just listening to Mom and your mom visit back and forth made my day. My husband, George, sold the family home on Devitt and we all celebrated with a toast and a clink of the glasses to great times that house held. Again a toast to Dorthy and a life well lived.

I remember how kind your mom was to me back in junior high. I had her for English I believe back when I was in seventh grade. She always made me feel important. She was one of my favorite teachers. I am sure you have great memories as well. It is always difficult to lose our moms. Just know your mom was special to others!
