Obituary of Logan R. McLaughlin

Logan Richard McLaughlin, born May 22, 2017, beloved son of Lauren (Carlson) and Cody McLaughlin, passed away Tuesday, September 5th. In the brief time he had to share with us, Logan brought incredible joy to everyone he touched. Logan's life was active and full as he took his mother and grandmother Melanie and aunt Berit apple picking, his mom and dad to the car races, his grandmother Chauncey and family to her birthday brunch, his uncle David to the Farmer’s Market, his cousins to the North Liberty Blues Fest, his great-grandmother Marilyn and great-grandfather Theron and best friend Callie Henderson to the Iowa State Fair, his grandfather Sean and family to Zombie Burger, and his dog Apollo to the dog park. His bright smile, delightful conversations and hugs carried him into the hearts of family and friends. Our deepest sorrow and grief is that his heart did not give him more time with us. 

Logan’s family includes his parents Cody and Lauren McLaughlin, of North Liberty; his grandparents, Melanie and Richard Carlson of Coralville, Chauncey and Dwayne Fielder of Lake Villa, Illinois, and Sean Trudell of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin;  his great-grandparents Theron and Marilyn Johnson, Jane Odom, Sue Trudell, Marge Fielder, and Tom Trudell; his aunts and uncles David Carlson, Berit Carlson, Kyle Trudell, Carter Trudell, Morgan Fielder, Megaan Fielder, Shannon McLaughlin, Kaitlyn McLaughlin and Noah McGarr; best friends Callie Henderson and Dedra Matcha and many loving great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

A time to visit and support Logan’s family will be held Friday, September 8th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City, who are thanked for their assistance and support in this difficult time.
