Dear Bentz Family,

I'm sorry for your loss, but join you in celebrating a life well lived. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Dale (I started working here 61 years after he graduated!), I know he was extremely loyal to Gettysburg and we were proud to have him as an alumnus.

May you find peace in gathering as a family next weekend and carry a lifetime of fond memories forward with you.

Your dad (and mother) were always very welcoming to me as a young, pesky girl visiting my childhood friend, Carol. I couldn't begin to count all the visits I made to the Bentz family home on East College Street! God bless your dear Father!

Dale was always a gentleman, enoyed working with him at the University. I know he was very giving person, he was quick to help others. The best to his family.

The ILA community expresses our deepest condolences to Dale's family. His 40+ years in the library community has surely enriched the lives of so many colleagues and students. ILA was blessed to have had his support and leadership for so many years.

We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

So glad I was able to stop at his table earlier this spring in the Hope Dining room for a quick visit. Always had great respect for him. Definitely part of that Greatest Generation shared with so many others we have come to know. My Dad and Uncle John included.
