Jim St. John
I had the honor to know this man. First as a patient while in High school in the early 1970's. Then as a friend later.
He was a highly intelligent person that I had a great deal of respect and admiration for.
I recall the year I ran for City Council, something he had already done and won, Dick attached a bullhorn to the top of his car on election day and drove around town urging everyone within hearing distance to vote for me. What a guy.
In April of this year, I was walking to a doctor’s appointment on Market Street near Linn Street and walked right past him. When I realized who I had just passed, I turned around in earnest to say hello, only to find that he had literally disappeared! Now I can't tell him just how much he meant to me. So I am telling you.
