Condolences to you and your family, Larry. How lucky for you to have had your mother around for 95 years. I just wanted to say how I enjoyed all the photos of you and your brothers and friends that were published in the Iowa City book "A Sense of Place". She was way ahead of her time as a photographer.

Mrs. Oaks was a 2nd mother to me. I spent as much time at her home as I did at my own. She was always kind to me and treated me as if I was her son. I am sure John and I caused her to have many gray hairs but she never spoke a cross word to me. I feel so fortunate to have had her in my life. Heaven is now a better place.

I am so sad to hear about Evelyn's passing. My maiden name is Fuhrmeister and she is a great inspiration for me with family genealogy.
