Condolences
I just read about the passing of Prof Branson. He was my adviser for my PhD program from 1965-1970 and was the student involved with him in designing the original spiral ramp which received the state award.
I enjoyed learning from him and will never forget his review of my first term paper wherein he taught me the fundamentals of doing technical papers. He was a wonderful teacher and I now am in charge of my consulting firm
in San Diego, california
May his soul Rest In Peace and May you all be comforted that he helped many youngsters to become good engineers
Thx and regards
Dr K M Kripanarayanan
So sorry to learn here at Oaknoll of Dan Branson's death. I have fond memories of Dan and Fredine's enrhusiastic activism for progressive politics in Johnson
County. I was glad to see Dan at Oaknoll and to say hello as I passed in the hall.

Sympathies to the family of Dan Branson,
In his last year teaching at the University of Iowa, I was able to take one of his classes which I consider an honor. He was legendary in many facets of his life including teaching. I was glad to be able to take one of his classes.
Recently, I was pleased to be one of the engineers who worked on the rehabilitation of the spiral "Ribbon In Space" pedestrian bridge and ramp on Burlington St and Riverside Dr. The structure and design remained the same as Dr. Branson designed. We were able to replace the concrete, used coated reinforcing and updated the railing in a way we felt was complementary to his design. I'm grateful for the honor of restoring a monumental structure designed by Dan Branson.
In his later years, I saw him at Oaknoll while visiting my grandparents. I do not think he remembered me, however I greeted him as "Dr. Branson" or "Professor Branson" and perhaps shared something he'd be interested in. I hope I gave him something to thing about or even recall something fondly from the past.
Thank you for endowing a scholarship in his name at the Univ of Iowa so his memory can live on, and for sharing him with the engineering profession.

Rachel and I want to add our condolences in memory of your father and grandfather. Although we have been living in California for almost 38 years, we have very fond memories from our days at the University of Iowa that we shared as colleagues in the College of Engineering.
Tim,
Please accept Colleen and my condolences and prayers. I've always enjoyed your parents when we were growing up and enjoyed them when I saw them as an adult. We were on the same Orange bowl tour back in 200?. Your father and I talked a lot of football on that trip.
Sincerely,
Bill and Colleen Jacobson
