It is with great sadness that I received the news about Marvin's death. I'll never forget when he called me into his office in the bank at Waubun and began talking with me about his life and how fortunate he had been. Then he surprised me by informing me he would like to donate a building to our Tri-Parish if we would like to merge our congregations together. So began a prayerful, sometimes difficult process of the members of our three congregations letting go of their churches, binding themselves together, and learning that even in endings can be new beginnings.
