Sherrie and family, just recently heard of Rick's passing. We worked a lot of shifts together at the VA. He kept us all in stiches, never a dull moment. I will miss him very much. Denny Shoemaker

My fondest memory of my brother Rick is when he was due to come home on leave from the Navy. Mom and I waited up late for him to get home and FINALLY he arrived and we were so excited. He planted his white sailor hat on my head and I thought I was on top of the world. I remember we stayed up late that night and I'm sure he had a LOT of stories to share (for those of you that knew Rick he always had stories!). The next day I remember him trying to teach me hand-signals for directing the planes to land on the ship. This big brother will be sadly missed.

Can't find words to describe the loss. Great man, friend, husband, father and grandfather. We are blessed to have known and loved him. Rick E Pitkin changed our lives for the better and you are a part of us forever as we can only hope to emulate your love of family, strength of character, and zest for life. Rest in peace dear brother.
