Obituary of John W. Grace

John William "Bill" Grace, 74, longtime Tiffin resident, died at home Saturday, December 15, 2012. In accordance with Bill's wishes, no public services will be held. A family service will take place at a later time. Online condolences may be sent to his family through the web @www.gayandciha.com John William Grace was born January 14, 1938, in Iowa City; son of Francis and Doris (Berfield) Grace. He graduated from Iowa City High School and served for a time in the Iowa National Guard. Bill married Betty Small on June 6, 1959, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, where they're raised their family and resided ever since. Bill was a past president of the Clear Creek School Board and when working, was an excavating contractor and had been involved in many projects in the Johnson County area over the years. Bill's family included his wife, Betty; son, John Grace (Tina) of Tiffin; daughter, Elizabeth Litwiller (Mike) of Parnell; grandchildren, Alyssa Tjader (Fredrik) of Sweden and Grace and Zachary Litwiller; brother, Robert Grace of AZ and sisters Mary Ellen Edwards (Bob) and Julia Chalmers both of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, William Chalmers and sister-in-law, Billy Grace.
