Obituary of Helen I Adams

Helen I. Adams, 86 of Iowa City died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Helen Irene Felsing was born January 14, 1926, in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Muhl) Felsing. On October 18, 1952, Helen married Kenneth E. Adams in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple had lived in Sioux City, Des Moines and in Iowa City since 1982. Helen enjoyed flowers and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, but most dear to her heart was her family! Her family includes her husband, Kenneth; children, Bruce and his wife, Janie Adams of Iowa City; Suzanne and her husband, Greg Whicker of Westfield, IN, and Karen Adams-Taylor and her husband, Michael Taylor of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Scott Whicker, Angela Whicker, Stephen Whicker, Sarah Whicker, Matthew Whicker, Brett Adams, Nicholas Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Jackson Taylor, and Samantha Taylor; great-grandchildren, Madison Jones, Logan Whicker, and Alden Whicker; and a step-grandson, Greg Furnish. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Zachary Taylor, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
