Condolences
Doug and Schrum Family,
Sorry to hear of your loss! It is hard to lose someone that is near and dear to your heart. What I learned when my mom passed away July 23, 2008 is you live one day at a time, you live for the memories and it shows your support system. You are in my thoughts and prayers in this time of sorrow. Like they say time heals all wounds. If you need anything let me know.

Wayne and Ann were my aunt and uncle. Wayne was born in a cabin shared by his parents and his mother's sister and husband. My grandmother, Wayne's mother, insisted that they move back to Iowa where she was from because of the Indians always knocking on their door for assistance. They came home in a car of the time which had to go in reverse to cross any small creeks. Wayne and my father were best buddies. They had many stories of growing up together when they had little resources. Wayne and my father had to make due and as a result their imagination created many interesting games they played.... boys will be boys. Wayne joined the service and had many chilling stories of his war experience. He flew on many bombing missions incharge of the radio. He was a hero. Later he had a successful career and he was a wonderful father, uncle and friend. We visited frequently and I fondly remember the times we picnicked and made home made ice cream. Many stories there. Wayne and Ann were wonderful individuals. I miss them dearly. They were from the Greatest generation from having little to abundance and the change that they experienced in their lifetime is breath taking. Until we meet again, may God hold us in the palm of his hand.
Sorry to hear of his passing.
I am deeply sorry for the lost of your father. You have hung in there for him and i know you made it easier for him. Take care
Always enjoyed golfing with Wayne. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
sorry for your loss. i would love to see you, but have other funerals also on Saturday. another time perhaps. Hi, to Barb.
Thinking of Wayne and family this day. I spent a lot of time around Wayne and Ann growing up as their grandson was my best friend. They always included me in events as if I were a family member. I remember them ordering pizza for us, allowing me to attend Iowa football and basketball games with their tickets, and wondering about their winter adventures in Texas. I know Wayne will be missed and I am thankful he had the chance to spend quality time with family up to the end of his life. You will all be in my prayers.
