William Daniel Bartlett was born July 16, 1980, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City the son of Daniel and Diana (Netzela) Bartlett. Growing up on the farm near Solon, he attended Solon schools, graduating from Solon High School with the Class of 1998. He has spent his time after high school working as a welder, mechanic and on the farm. Working on anything, cars, farm machinery, you name it he could fix it, and many family and friends would count on Bill to do just that. He would help anyone one out, even a total stranger he would come upon, Bill was there to help! He enjoyed the simple things in life, watching the stars on a clear night, the outdoors, working on most anything that had wheels, but most of all, spending time with his two children, Jackson and Betty Sue, they were his world!
Bill was a member of the Sons of the American Legion through the Stinocher Post of the American Legion in Solon; he was proud to be a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church where his children were baptized.
His family includes his two children, Jackson and Betty Sue; Bill's parents, Dan and Diana Bartlett; sisters, Jessica (Steve) Milliman of Solon; and Rebecca Bartlett (Chad Young) of Iowa City; nieces and nephews, Alan, Vanessa, Isaac, Maria, Joshua, Cody, Grant, Wyatt, Ivan and Avery; grandparents, Dolores Netzela of St. Louis, MO; and Jim and Audrey Bartlett of Solon; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Netzela.
Remember Bill as one that helped his neighbor, friend, stranger and family, no questions asked, no payment necessary, but the one you could always count on.
