Thinking of you at this time. John was a wonderful teacher and also a great colleague--from being his student to working with him, I so enjoyed him. He certainly did love his family as well as his friends. Mary Jo & Bill
I have so many good memories of Coach Larson. He instilled in me a love for running during my times at North Kossuth in the early 80's. I reflect back to the level of anxiety that Coach experienced on the day of a track or cross country meet. It clearly demonstrated his passion for the student athletes he worked with. I can still remember the smiles he would share with our teams during the times of victories in our lives.
I remember you finding a place for me my sophomore year in track when I was beat out by Dave Menke to through shot put for the track team. You worked with me and encouraged me to do high jump and I actually placed in on track meet. As I wrote on facebook last night, Coach had the ability to take great athletes and get them to perform at their peek when the chips were down. That is evident by the number of medals and championship patches (conference and district) worn around by his track athletes. I think the Bartolos have back problems from all the medals they wone :) While I did not have Coach as a teacher because my family moved away from Swea City between my sophomore and junior year, I am sure he showed the same passion for his teaching that he showed in his coaching. My prayers are with your family Coach. God Bless You

We want to extend our sympathy to the Larson family. We know how much Beth loved her brother and she will miss him. Blessings to all the family from the Sovereign family.
Our condolences go out to Marilyn and the entire Larson family. We'll miss watching John tend his tomato plants and walking through the neighborhood. We hope a lifetime of memories will help you through the difficult times.
