Richard A. Jensen
1931 - 2012
Condolences
Back in 2004 , I aftended a program at Iowa River Power and Light(?) in Iowa City abut writing family memories,....an Iowa Arts Council presentation....and shared a table with Richard and Marilyn...All of us retired and looking for creative things to do....enjoyed the visit that day and exchanged email addresses and have kept in touch through several episodes of cancer, joint replacements, illnesses and the things that happen when we pass 39.
Marilyn,
Our thoughts are with you and your family. Reading your wonderful e-mails over the years, it was evident what a special marriage you and Richard shared. Please know that our e-mail messages were also fun to read and kept us in touch with Iowa City events and classmates spread far and wide.
Thank you, too, for enabling all of us to glimpse the Jensen's life story in web-site pictures. Wee4meP appreciate that, Marilyn.

Marilyn - Our thoughts are with you. Jean said the funeral was very special.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all. It's never easy to lose a loved one, even though you know they are no longer in pain. I'm sure Richard and Mary are sitting up there together reaching down to comfort you all. And then the talking will come...and oh my do they have alot to talk about! LOL Please know that I am there with you in thought, though I can't be there in person. Always remember the good time, there were ALOT OF THEM!
Marilyn and Family,
Richard was such a kind man with a warm caring heart, He will truly be missed by all who knew him, He was amazing in so many wonderful ways.
We were blessed to of had him in our lives for so many years! Peace be with you all as you go through this long healing journey.
I enjoyed working with Dick at UI Facilities Management, and remember his family well from Coralville. Cynthia and Tom, my thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
Marilyn and Family,
So sorry for your loss, Your in my thoughts and my prayers!
Brother Richard was always positive and upbeat about everything and everyone around him. His wisdom and experience will be missed at our local KC Council, but he certainly will not be forgotten! It was always an experience in learning whenever you talked to him. He had a line of BS that was truly appreciated. Our prayers are with his family.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee, blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen!

I worked with Dick at many elections. It was such a pleasure to see him come into the polling place with his hammer ( for stake pounding) and good humor. I will miss him.
I was blessed enough to marry into this wonderful family. Richard welcomed me in with open arms . Such a kind heart and warm spirit he has. I will very much miss the meal prayers at the family holidays! Much love and prayers to the immediate family as we say our final "see ya laters" and learn to get thru in the months to come! With a heavy heart I know he will be missed by so many, with a happy heart I know he has touched so many hearts and is now pain free!
This is how I will remember Richard. Always giving of his time and talents. He kept us on our toes in the kitchen and cooked up some mighty fine food. We all had a great time together.
what to say about uncle Richard, he was such a wonderful man! From square dances to gunny sak races at the 4th of july picnics at the saddle club he WAS the party! Our sympathy to all the family. the world has lost a great guy but heaven has opened its arms to recive another wonderful person!
God Bless.
