The notice in the Ithaca Journal brings back memories of our Ithaca friendship and visit in Iowa on way to west coast in 1967. Pete, I'm glad you had sixty-six years. Barth died in 2009. My son, Barth (Rhonda), and daughter, Kathryn, live in Ithaca. I have four grandchildren: Gwynne is now in Wash, D.C., Rebecca is in Brooklyn, Anna is a Harvard jr., and Meghan is set to graduate from Ithaca High School. About 15 years ago LuAnn and I were seated poolside at the University Athletic club for one event or another. Jackie said hello to us as she strode past and climbed the stairway up to the club's main dining room.

Dear Knapp Family,

I enjoyed visiting with Jackie at our Book Club meetings. She was a wonderful hostess at their home on Linder Rd. At the end of the year, we would hold our potluck luncheon there. Her uplifting spirit made it fun.
