Condolences
Thinking about you in your time of loss. We just heard of Marie's passing. We wanted you to know that we're thinking of you and your family with deepest sympathy and fond memories if good times we had in Luling.
T.A. We have fond memories of you and Marie when you lived across the street. She was a special person. I enjoyed making flower arraingements with her for the hospital and still enjoy many plant starts she gave me for our new yard when we first moved on Timber.
Hazel Marie will be missed. She was a lovely woman. I have such wonderful memories of our many visits while she and TA lived in Texas. I am so glad my daughters were able to hear her wonderful stories about her Mother (who made the best chess pie) and Dad, her children and grandchildren, as well as the entire Brooks clan. It was all about family.
My condolences to T.A. and Family as Marie will be very much missed. I had known Marie for many years, primarily while she and T.A. lived in New Braunfels where they would share their home with my mother, Mary Brooks, and I as well as other Brooks family members, for the annual Brooks memorial graveside services each April in Weimar, Texas. It was Marie who always put together the flowers for the service in Weimar as well as driving out of state kin to the service. Several years ago I mentioned that I had read that my great grandfather, John Brooks of Weimar, did not know a history of the Brooks family beyond his father. Marie spent many an hour with me putting together a history from a family bible and recollections of her mother and my great aunt, Ernestine Reinhardt. At least, many of the Brooks' have a better understanding of their past. That was just one example of Marie's warm and open heart that she shared with all of us. My wife Elizabeth and I had the privilege of knowing Ken and Linda when we lived in Atlanta. I have nothing but very fond memories of Marie and will hold those dear. -- Jeff Brooks
Marie and T. A. were very kind to us starting our first job at Monsanto. Marie, our real estate person, carried us, like a loving mom, through the purchase of land and building of our first home. We have enjoyed their friendship over the next 50 years. May she rest in pease. And, may T' A. and family have God's comfort and peace. Carol and Lloyd Boesch

T.A and family. How sorry we were to learn of Marie's passing. We shared so many wonderful times in Texas. We missed you when you moved back to Iowa. We know it was best for you. Just as we know that Marie is far happier and out of pain at this time. Much love.
Dear T.A. and all your dear family,
We were so sorry to hear of your pecious loss of your precious Marie and your Mother.
It is a joy to remember gratefully all the times together we spent visiting and having a good time whether it was at our bridge group or around Muscatine. What a talented and lovely lady! She carried her friendly and loving smile wherever she went and shared it with all. I cherish her memory and the friendship we had over the years. She was a blessing indeed!
Our heartfelt sympathy to you all...may the Love of God and all your precious memories hug you tight thru this sad but hope filled time.
Fondly, Ila & Glen Barrington
My husband, Randy, and I met Marie and T.A. when they joined Braunfels Presbyterian Church. I remember visiting Marie at their home at 817 Timber Drive here in New Braunfels. She was so happy to show me her "shady garden" that she and T.A. put in and the "quiet bench" that T.A. built for her. She spent many hours there having her peaceful, quiet time each day. We so enjoyed having gotten to know them. I always will remember Marie as "sterling' - she had that beautiful sterling hair and more importantly, a sterling character that I am sure will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
With sincere sympathy,
Joyce and Randy Taylor
Although we met Marie only a few times, her strength of character and spirit were unforgettable. She was in every sense a grand lady.
Our thoughts and prayers are with TA, Bill, Janet and the family as they mourn her loss.
