I was honored to have "Miss Irwin" as my student teacher at Longfellow Elementary School in Iowa City in the fall of 1972, and was thrilled to be invited to her wedding reception at Bit 'Orleans.
I often wondered where she was and who she was teaching.
It sounds like she made an incredible difference in the lives of those with dementia and their families.
