Catlin and family: We are all greatly saddened by Gene's passing. I remember teaching Gene to fly radio control and all the practice sessions we had. We had a lot of time to get to know each other and became good friends. I'll miss our little get togethers at El Dorado and more recently at La Cava during the winter months when it was too cold to fly but not too cold for dinner and good conversation. Gene was a very interesting guy and could talk about just about anything. He will be remembered for his love of pie. We could always count on Gene to bring pie to our potluck get togethers at the field. I won't be able to look at a cherry pie from this point forward without thinking of Gene. I'll also miss hooking up with him at OshKosh but most of all I'll miss his laugh. We didn't just loose a great club member, we lost a wonderful friend. He will be missed.
