Obituary of Fumiko E. Schnoebelen

Fumiko Elizabeth "Betty" Schnoebelen, 80 of Vista, CA passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Fumiko Elizabeth Minami was born January 23, 1931, in Japan, the daughter of Yoshikyo and Toyana Tanaka Minami. On September 3, 1955, she was united in marriage to Edwin Charles Schnoebelen while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. Returning to Camp Pendelton in California, they purchased their home in Vista, CA where Betty resided until her death. She is survived by her son, Randy, granddaughter, Brianna of Vista, CA and a brother and sister living in Japan. Other family members are Francis Schnoebelen, Unionville, MO; Lu Harland, Kalona, IA; Leo and Shirley Ruth, Ely, IA; Mick and Dale Hammer, Iowa City, IA; Darlene and Bill Maines, Milton, FL; Dale and Connie Schnoebelen, Iowa City, IA; and John Geers, Rantoul, IL. She also had many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Charles in 1981; Jerome and Charlotte Schnoebelen, Ellen Schnoebelen, Ray Harland, Phyllis Ruth, Verle Schnoebelen and Alice Geers. Family graveside service will be held at the Schnoebelen Cemetery in Riverside, Iowa with The Very Reverend Rich Adam officiating.
