Obituary of Augustine Wyatt Koch

Augustine Wyatt “Gus” Koch, five-week old son of Gregory and Heather (Kidwell) Koch of rural Riverside died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at their home from complications since his birth. Those who remain to mourn his passing and celebrate his birth into eternal life include his parents, Greg and Heather, grandparents Kevin and Carol Kidwell of Solon, Mary Koch of Potosi, Missouri, and Gary Koch of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandparents, Byron and Dorothy Sweeting of Riverside, Dorothy Kidwell of Iowa City, and Judy Kidwell of Iowa City; great-great-grandmother, Marjorie Cavanaugh of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Gus was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Bill Kidwell of Iowa City, Iowa; Frank W. and Ruth Meyers of Potosi, Missouri, and Matthew “Boots” and Clarice Koch of Cadet, Missouri. Visitation for Augustine will begin at 5:00pm and end with recitation of the Rosary at 8pm Monday January 12, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A Traditional Latin Mass of the Angels will be held at 9:00am Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the Sts. Peter & Paul Historical Church in rural Solon. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Riverside, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory. Online condolences can be made through the web @ www.gayandciha.com.
