Obituary of Emily Rierson Marchman

Emily Rierson Marchman age 91 of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Iowa City, died Tuesday Dec. 9, 2008, in Murfreesboro. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN. Burial and graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona, Iowa. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ gayandciha.com. Emily was born January 30, 1917, in the St. Vrain Community in Curry County, New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late George Madison and Alpha Omega Jackson Rierson. Mrs. Marchman was married to the late Frank James Marchman and they farmed in the Portales New Mexico area for forty years. Mrs. Marchman was a member of the Nazarene Church in Iowa and was a homemaker. Her family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Carl Buckner of Murfreesboro, TN, sons and daughters-in-law, James Nathan and Gloria Marchman of Iowa City, Iowa and Herb and Karen Marchman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her daughter, Emily Ruth Marchman. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Emily’s family and her services locally.
