Obituary of Larry Brant

Larry Brant, 52 of rural Tiffin died Monday, December 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2008, at Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin with the Reverend Beverly Marshall-Goodell officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery near Tiffin. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory. Lawrence “Larry” Carl Brant was born March 5, 1956, in Iowa City the son of Kenneth Carl and Joanne (Madden) Brant. He attended Clear Creek Schools graduating with the class of 1974. For over twenty-five years he worked for Farm Service, the past ten years he has worked for R.R. Donnelly (formerly Moore Business Forms) of Iowa City. Larry married Dawn M. Maher on September 17, 1988, in Iowa City. Larry has always lived in the Tiffin/Iowa City area. While in high school he played football and wrestled for Clear Creek. Larry enjoyed the out doors, hunting, riding his motorcycles, working on cars, but most of all he loved his family! You would always find him at any of the school, church or athletic events if his kids were there, couldn’t keep him away. His family includes his wife, Dawn; children all at home, Jesse, Kara and Amy; his mother, Joanne and her husband, Reese Greer of Iowa City; sisters, Dianna Brack of Oxford, Sandy Tomas (Allen) of Oxford, and Annette Mossman (Steven) of Winterset, IA; Dawn’s parents, Lois and Bill Jensen of West Liberty, and Hugh and Pat Maher of West Branch; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ken; and brother-in-law, Dan Brack. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Larry’s family and his services.
