Obituary of Ryan Ray Wichhart

Ryan Ray Wichhart, 21, of North Liberty chose to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 7pm Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in North Liberty, with the Reverend Alecia Williams officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5pm until services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ryan’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web@www.gayandciha.com. Ryan Ray Wichhart was born July 30, 1986, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Douglas A. and Robin R. (Brown) Wichhart. He attended Penn Elementary, Northwest Junior High and graduated from West High School in 2004. While in school he enjoyed playing football, running track & field, and playing tuba in the band. Ryan was a member of Toastmasters International. He had worked at the Fareway Store in North Liberty and for Quality Care of Coralville. Ryan enjoyed sports, whether it was the Iowa Hawkeyes, or the Chicago teams of the Bulls and White Sox, he was a true fan through thick and thin. If you knew Ryan, you knew his sense of humor, always that quick wit to catch you, his favorite TV show, of course was Saturday Night Live; you also knew a kind, caring young man who loved life, loved his family, and was good in his faith. His family includes his parents, Doug and Robin Wichhart; sister, Jamie Wichhart; brother, Matthew Wichhart, all of North Liberty; grandfather, Robert Brown of Shellsburg, Iowa; grandparents, Judy and Gary Wichhart of Texas, Gary and Marcia Wichhart of Rockford, Illinois, Great-grandmother, Kathryn Wichhart of Keosauqua, Iowa; great-great uncle, Merle Brown of Manchester, Iowa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ryan was preceded in death by his Mam-ma, Barbara Brown. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Ryan’s family and his services.
