Obituary of Eric C. Swartz

Eric C. Swartz, 46 formerly of Iowa City died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 6, 2007 in Moorhead, MN. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with a time for visitation to follow services. Burial will be at the Oakridge Cemetery in West Liberty at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Eric’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Eric was born November 18, 1961 in Albert Lea, MN, the son of David and Ruth Ann (Kruse) Swartz. His family moved to the Iowa City area where he graduated from West High School in 1980. For a number of years he was employed with Payless Cashways, first at the Coralville store, later in Wichita, KS. Moving to the Minneapolis area he was involved in retail sales. His family includes his wife, Terri Noser-Swartz of Moorhead, MN; mother, Ruth Ann Rogers and her partner, Richard Holladay, Jr. of Iowa City; sister, Kimberly Swartz of Albuquerque, NM; grandmothers, Charlotte Swartz of Clear Lake, IA and Erleine Kruse of Coralville; aunt, Virginia Sullivan and her son and his wife, Patrick and Leaha Sullivan of Muscatine; Terri’s family, her parents, Dwane and Jean Noser of Iowa City; sister, Tracy Speraw (Kirk) of Orlando, FL; brothers, William Noser (Susan) of Iowa City, Robert Noser (Jennifer) of Iowa City, and Brett Noser (Kay) of Denver, CO; numerous nieces and nephews; and Eric’s beloved dog, “Hawkeye”. Eric was preceded in death by his father, David Swartz in 1972 and grandfathers, Frederick Kruse and Samuel Swartz.
