Obituary of Judy K. Stromer

Judy K. Stromer 60, formerly of Iowa City died Saturday, May 26, 2007 from injuries received in a automobile accident near Ladora, Iowa. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 from 4 to 7pm at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established for her animals. Online condolences may be sent for their family through the web @www.gayandciha.com. Judy Kay Cain was born January 13, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (McBee) Cain. She received her B.A. Degree in Anthropology from the University of Iowa. Prior to moving Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2004, she worked at Pearson (NCS) in Iowa City and also at the University of Iowa in Central Mail System. Judy had made the decision to return to the Iowa City area to be near her family, and was in the process of moving at the time of her accident. Her family includes four daughters and their husbands, Amy Dawnell Cain and Grischa Kurz of Hammond, IN, Kelly Kay Stromer and Martin Nolan of Iowa City, Tricia Marie Al-Yasiri and Hazim of Iowa City and Kristi Lynn Cummings and Howard of Jonesborough, TN; seven grandchildren; and her father, Ralph Willis Cain of Marshalltown. Judy was dearly loved by so many, and will be missed by all. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Judy’s family and her services.
