Mount Pleasant Gary L. Shultz, 55 of Mount Pleasant, Iowa died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Faith Christian Outreach Church, Mount Pleasant. Graveside services will be 2:30 pm, Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City with military graveside services. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Monday, July 31, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Gary was born December 3, 1950 in Iowa City to John and Norma (Watson) Shultz. He graduated from Iowa City High School. Gary married Rita Mildenstein on December 5, 1970 in Iowa City. Gary worked for MCI Worldcom/Verizon Business. Gary was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Church, Mount Pleasant and had been a member of the Iowa National Guard. Gary’s family includes his wife, Rita, son, Todd Shultz and his wife, Sue of Mt Vernon, Iowa; daughters, Amy Munz and her husband, Steve of Iowa City, Jessica Shultz of Destin, Florida and Michelle Shultz of Mt Pleasant; grandchildren, Caroline, Delaney, Preston, Madison, and Sydney; his father, John Shultz and wife, Margaret of Fort Worth, Texas; his mother Norma Shultz of Iowa City; a sister, Stephanie Swails and her husband, Keith of Iowa City; brothers, Jack Shultz and his wife, Jane of Iowa City and Dave Shultz and his wife, Emily of Iowa City.
