Obituary of Craig Schmidt

Craig Schmidt, 52, of 425 Brady Street, Hills, Iowa died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 7:00 pm at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Craig was born April 23, 1953 in Iowa City; he was the son Donald and Joan Schmidt. Craig married Brenda Scharf June 3, 1984 in Iowa City. He was employed for over 25 years at University of Iowa Power Plant. Craig was an EMT and firefighter on the Hills Fire Department, where he served as the Emergency Services Training Officer for the fire department. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #695, Iowa City. Craig was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the US Navy as a SEAL. Craig’s family includes his wife, Brenda, a daughter, Jennifer of Hills; two sons, Eric of Cedar Rapids and Kevin of Hills; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Bradley.
