Obituary of Marna Wielert

Marna Strever Wielert, age 92 of the Pleasantview Home in Kalona and formerly of Hinckley, IL died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Pleasantview Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marna’s memory to the Pleasantview Home @ P.O. Box 309, Kalona, and Iowa 52247. Mrs. Wielert was born June 25, 1911 in Hinckley, Illinois the daughter of Datis Ensign and Harriett (Bushbom) Strever. She graduated from Hinckley High School in 1929. On April 22, 1932, she married Clarence A. Wielert at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley. Clarence died October 12, 1973. In 1989, Marna moved to Iowa City area to be near her son and his family. Her family includes her sons and his wife, Jan Wielert and Jenean Arnold of Kalona; three grandchildren, Allan Wielert and his wife, Karen of Iowa City, Jessica Bovey and Jocelyn Bovey both of Milwaukee, WI; one great-granddaughter, Grace Kathleen Wielert; and one sister and her husband, Jean Balagna and John of Whiterack, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, John, Loren and Merwin Strever; and a sister, Allie Mae Barker; and a sister-in-law, Faye Strever.
