Obituary of Pauline Jean Parrott

Iowa City Dateline: Pauline Jean Parrott, age 75 formerly of Cedar Rapids went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at a hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2005 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Pauline’s memory. Pauline Jean Moore Parrott was born December 10, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Horace Greely Moore and Josephine (Barr) Moore. She was united in marriage to Donald J. Parrott Sr. in October 7, 1955. The couple moved from Cedar Rapids in 1963 to Colorado, and later to Las Vegas in 1989. Here she enjoyed the casinos, talking with many celebrities, and getting to know the people of Las Vegas. Her family includes her husband, Donald Sr. of Las Vegas; three sons, Arvin Parrott of Palo, IA, Donald J. Parrott Jr. and his wife, Renee of Cedar Rapids, and William Parrott and his wife, Janet of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter, Joni Johnson of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Neil Moore of Cedar Rapids, and a sister, Vivian Elam of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Iona. Pauline will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
