Obituary of Della Bothell

Della M. Bothell, age 78, formerly of Iowa City, died Sunday, January 2, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with the Reverend Renee Lunemann officiating . Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be on Thursday one hour prior to the services. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice in her memory. (Johnson) Bothell was born November 8, 1926, in Big Sandy, Montana, the daughter of Walter and Jeanette (Goldcamp) Johnson. She was married to Franklin Bever of Dayton, Iowa for a number of years. She came to the Iowa City area in 1974 where she was employed with the University of Iowa in the Media Library. While in Iowa City Della married Eldon Bothell. Della and Eldon were members of the United Methodist Church in West Liberty. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2002, to be near her daughter. Her family includes a daughter and her husband, Janet and Doyle Tilson of Oklahoma City, OK; a son and his wife, Frank Bever and Marilyn Held of Grosse Pointe Park, MI; one grandson and his wife, Jason and Sarah Coffin of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Ida Johnson of Iowa City, Joyce Anderson and her husband, Gary of Ft. Dodge, IA; two brothers and their wives, Elzie and Audrey Johnson of Woolstock, IA, and Gene and Henrietta Johnson of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Merlene Johnson. Della will be remembered as a kind and gentle spirit.
