Obituary of John R. Herdrich

John R. Herdrich, age 53 of Iowa City, died on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an unexpected heart attack. Services will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established, and donations may be sent to Storm Herdrich at 3025 Creighton Street, Iowa City. John Ray Herdrich was born on April 1, 1951 in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was the son of Maynard E. and Eileen Harnagel Herdrich. John was a graduate of Central Lee High School, the University of Iowa, the University of Northern Iowa, and Eastwind School of Massage. John was the proprietor of Silver Mt. Therapeutic Massage in Iowa City. He was a founding member of the Iowa Prairie Network, and had been restoring native prairie on an acreage in Van Buren County. He is survived by his daughter, Storm Herdrich and her mother, Nancy Fries, both of Iowa City; his father, Maynard Herdrich of Donnellson, Iowa; and onebrother, Floyd Herdrich of Virginia.
