Obituary of Isabel Frese

Isabel Frese, age 88 of rural Oxford died Sunday, October 19, 2003, at her home following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at the Oxford Chapel of Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Oxford. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1pm Wednesday until services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Isabel’s memory to Iowa City Hospice. Isabel Kraus Frese was born December 6, 1914, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Paul and Minnie Leichsenring Kraus. She was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Roosevelt High School. On May 26, 1934, she married Ivan E. Frese on Chicago, Illinois. The couple has farmed south of Oxford for over sixty years. Her husband of nearly seventy years, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends throughout the years were her world. She loved caring for all of them, especially cooking for them, many good meals she prepared for all. Her family includes her husband, Ivan; son and his wife, Charles and Elayne Frese of Oxford; daughter, Juanita Cochran of Oxford; grandchildren, Curtis, Chris and Mike Frese, Paula Dunshee, Jeff and his wife, Chris Cochran, and Lisa and her husband, Phil Feinberg; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Joe, Tanner, Shelby, and Arron; sister and her husband, Louise and Frank Frese of Hiawatha. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Helen Martinson and a brother, Paul Kraus.
