Obituary of Elizabeth Voyce

Elizabeth Jean Lamb Voyce was born January 25, 1923, in Ironton, Minnesota the daughter of Edward A. and Justine J. (Fox) Lamb. On November 25, 1950, she married Thomas M. Voyce in Clinton, Iowa. Her family includes her husband, Tom; daughters, Jessica Voyce of Iowa City, Elizabeth Moeller of Wichita, KS, and Mary Anderson of Owasso, OK; sons, Charles Voyce of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Thomas E. Voyce of England; twelve grandchildren, and a sister, Donna Jo Marshall of Clinton, Iowa. She received her schooling at St. Catherine’s School in St. Paul, MN. The couple and their family moved to Iowa City in 1962. For many years Betty worked in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Iowa, retiring in 1988. Betty enjoyed her bridge playing, golfing and fishing. She volunteered at the University of Iowa Rapture Center and the Coralville Library. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to Special Olympics or the University of Iowa Rapture Center.
