Obituary of James William Bauwens

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory. “Jim” was born September 25, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa the son of William L. and Ruth I. (Moore) Bauwens. He graduated with the last graduating class of University High School in Iowa City. For the past twenty plus years, Jim has worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He had two Shih-Tzu’s dogs, Emmet and Kelly who he considered his children. Another passion that Jim had in this world was collecting Emmet and Kelly memorabilia. His family includes his sister and her husband, Mary Louis and Larry Oetzmann of Donahue, Iowa; and his brother and his wife, Mike and Cody Bauwens of Iowa aCity; one niece and her husband, Melena and Travis Hicks; four nephews, Joe, Josh, Jake and John Bauwens. He was preceded in death by his parents.
