Obituary of Marilyn J. Vanderlinden

Marilyn Adams Vanderlinden, 75 of Washington, Iowa died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington after a sudden illness. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the services at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Marilyn Hall was born April 14, 1935 in Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Neva (Logan) Hall. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to DeWayne Adams, from this marriage the couple had five children, Pamela, Donald, Debra, Nancy and Robert. She later married Richard Vanderlinden. Marilyn enjoyed working out in her yard, and putting puzzles together. She was a very proud mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Her family includes 3 daughters, Pam Dresser (Duane) of Anamosa; Deb Adams (Ray McMenomy) of Oxford; and Nancy Grubb of Washington; 2 sons, Don Adams (Diane) of Washington, and Bob Adams of Sergeant Bluff, IA; 12 grandchildren, Craig Dresser, Todd Dresser (Stacey), Ryan Adams (Andrea), Justin Adams (Nicole Stewart), Tiffinay Batey (Doyle), Cherokee McMenomy Adams, Sydney McMenomy Adams, Adam Grubb, Mitchell Grubb, Brett Adams, Conner Adams, and Megan Adams, and 3 great-grandchildren,Abby, Aiden and Zane Batey. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joe Hall and a sister, Gail Johnston.
