Obituary of Dwayne Dahnke

Dwayne “Doc” Dahnke, 82 of Coralville died Friday, September 10, 2010. In honor of Doc’s wishes, no services are planned; his earthly remains have been cremated. Doc was born February 25, 1928, in Iowa City the son of George and Beulah (Henderson) Dahnke. He married Glenna Marie Reynolds on December 30, 1949. The couple has lived their entire lives in this area, for many years Doc drove truck. His family includes his son, Gary of Coralville; grandson, Scott and his fiancé, Lisa Gorden of Coralville; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Bartholomew of Iowa City; Delores Curtis, Diane Littrel and Jack Dahnke all of Muscatine; and Virginia Poggenpohl of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Dale, Bill, Robert “Speed”, Lyle and Kenneth, and a sister, Ramona McCleary.
