She was born near Earling, Iowa and moved to the family farm near Estherville with her parents, Barney and Beatrice Rosenow. She graduated from Estherville High School. Deloris and Donald lived in the Estherville area until they moved to Iowa City. Deloris devoted her life to caring for her family, giving of her time and energy to church, the free lunch program (she coordinated this program for about five years) and working in several secretarial positions, one being St. Mark’s Methodist Church where she was a charter member. She completed her third cook book, showing her love for cooking and baking. She also enjoyed fishing and topped Donald’s fishing by catching a 15 pound Northern on a cane pole! Deloris and Donald are the proud parents of six children; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. They all live in and around the Iowa City area. Their children include Jim (Teresa) Tvedte and their children, Laura, Matt and Tim; Tracy Tvedte and his children, Ann Lawler, Benjamin (Missy), Alex, and Ann’s children, Avery and Aaron; Tom Tvedte and his children, Michael and Kathryn; Bill (Martha) Tvedte and their children, Colton and Trevor; Connie (Monty) Herrick and their daughter, Jessica; and Bev (Tom) Dawson; sister, June Wilson from Alabama; and her daughters, Lynn and Lauri. Deloris’ family would like to thank all those from Iowa City Hospice and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church for all they have done for Deloris and our family. We have been truly blessed with all the care and support throughout all of this, thank you! Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Deloris’ family and her services.
