Obituary of Lottie R. Marshall
Lottie R. Marshall, 89 of Iowa City went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or Mercy Hospice Care c/o Mercy Foundation of Iowa City. (Funk) Marshall was born November 28, 1920, in Perlee, Iowa the daughter of George and Ada (Newmire) Funk. She and her family moved to Iowa City in 1927, where she attended schools. She married Russell Yedlik on July 3, 1945 in Rock Island, IL. He died in 1973. She later married Bernard Marshall on December 16, 1998, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City. He died March 15, 2003. For many years she worked at the Randalls store in Iowa City in the meat department. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan especially the football and basketball teams, enjoyed flowers and the outdoors, dancing, but nothing topped going shopping with her girls! Her family includes her daughters, Sandy Hansen and special friend, Charles Belcher, Nancy Stalkfleet and husband, Paul, Patricia Lewis and husband, Howard all of Iowa City; Carolyn Heitshusen and special friend, Jack Wonick of Rochester; 19 grandchildren, Tom Hansen Jr., Mike Hansen, Pat Hansen, Tim Hansen, Deb Warner, Steve Warner, Kerre Bell, Ranae Stalkfleet, Stacey Dyer, Ryan Stalkfleet, Boun Stalkfleet, Shawn Lewis, Dawn Cahalan, Stephanie Lewis, Mark Patterson, Russell Stagg, Letha Ottaway, Annette Henderson, and Merilee Quinlin; 13 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Susan Warner of Conesville. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Jack Warner, step-daughter, Donna Stagg, 2 granddaughters, Audrey Poock and Janet Stagg; 3 sisters, & 6 brothers.
