Obituary of Richard Medrano

Richard Medrano, formally of San Jose died December 25, 2009 at Iowa City Care Center in Iowa City, Iowa. He was 58. Richard was born August 3, 1951 in Bronx, NY. He graduated from North Rockland High School where he was the President of the Honor Society. Richard received a full scholarship to Hofstra University and later graduated from the New York City School of Broadcasting. He also received as AS degree in electronic engineering from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Richard was Chief Engineer of Telemundo in San Jose and enjoyed a 30-year career in broadcasting in the Bay Area, most recently working for Comcast in Montery. Rich had many friends and was loved for his charm, wit, sense of humor, intelligence, and generous spirit. Richard is survived by his Son Daniel, companion Lois Baker, his mother, Anna Woska of Suffern, Father, Fred Medrano of New Mexico. He is also survived by his sisters Adrienne Medrano of Florida and JoAnne Slane of Montgomery, N.Y. Funeral Services will be private for the family in New York with a memorial service to follow in California.
