Obituary of Ronald S. Bowers

Ronald S. Bowers, 32, of Iowa City died Sunday, November 15, 2009, from injuries sustained in a car accident. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7pm Monday, November 23rd. at the Hilltop Lounge @ 1100 North Dodge Street in Iowa City. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Ron was a fun, loving young man who took great pleasure in making people laugh. He possessed a heart as big as all outdoors and would do anything for a person that was even remotely within his power. He was not a certified mechanic, but to his friends and family he was that and more. What Ron may have lacked in skilled training, he made up for in sheer determination. Ron enjoyed going on bicycle rides with his friends and step-dad, Brett. He and Brett also had the shared passion of one, 1968 Pontiac Firebird. Many hours were spent “tinkering” in the garage. Ron is survived by his parents, Candy and Brett Norris, Steve Bowers and Eugene Wallace; step-sister, Andrea Norris; great-grandfather, George Hamm; great aunt and uncle, Nancy and Pete Martin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by Rozella Hamm, great-grandmother and grandparents Walter and Judy Glasgow. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Ron’s family and his services.
